Climb mountains, carve corners and smash records on the fastest recumbent bicycle ever. The Vendetta V20c is our flagship model.

Years of racing, research and development have brought us to the perfect carbon fiber-aluminum concept. The V20c is our lightest, stiffest, smoothest, fastest Vendetta ever, joining a carbon fiber front end with an aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame.

The proof that this is indeed the fastest recumbent bike is in the records set and held by Cruzbike Vendetta racers. Make no mistake, this bike will make you faster. In fact, we guarantee it.

  • Fit: The V20c fits riders with an X-seam between 35 inches and 48 inches (about 5'2" to 6'5" body height). Check out our blog post on how to measure x-seam here. If you are at either end of the fit range and have questions, contact us at hello@cruzbike.com. We'd love to get you fit.

Cruzbike V20c Specs and Fit

Front Triangle

Our patented front triangle design is formed by the fork, chainstay, boom and slider. It is a compact tetrahedron that links the upper and lower body across the drivetrain as it rotates around the axis of the head tube. This linkage allows you to boost power when climbing or sprinting by engaging the upper body. It also means you'll run a standard length chain and have access to the cutting edge in performance component technology.

The new V20c boom utilizes a T47 85mm wide BB shell and an aero profile tube for the greatest blend of aerodynamics and stiffness possible. This shell capitalizes on stiffness where it matters most - right where your wattage is being generated.

This larger diameter shell is matched to the new chainstay, which is light, aero in profile and stiff laterally. It uses a broad new clamp design at the boom to maximize stiffness at the BB and chainstay interface.

The chainstay leads down to our new carbon fiber fork, which is light without being flimsy and utilizes an oversize tapered steerer with wider bearings for increased strength at the crown.

A 12mm through axle connects the wheel, fork, and stay together as a solid unit. The result is a strong and unparalleled power connection from the crank to the cassette with nearly zero deflection. The flat mount disc brakes are tucked in behind the blades for maximum aero. No other recumbent can claim a transmission with this little power loss, where deflections in booms, frames, and stays are all too common.

Tying the fork and boom together is our new slider, which uses a new internal connection as opposed to a boom clamp. The precisely designed pivot clamp is designed to spread the clamping forces on the slider tube and fork steerer without damage, slipping, or deflection under the types of torsional forces a Cruzbike front end can be subjected to. The fork portion of the pivot clamp replaces the headset top cap to reduce the number of pieces needed to set bearing tension.

All of these ingredients come together for the best power transfer possible with zero flex - while still feeling silky smooth. The ideal blend.

Add some clean internal cable routing in the fork for the front brake and derailleur, and in the boom/slider for the front derailleur and you have the cleanest, smoothest, most gorgeous Cruzbike front end to date.

    Frame

The V20c recumbent road bike’s lightweight aerospace-grade aluminum alloy frame smooths the road, slicing through the air so you can focus on putting every watt of power into the record-smashing top speeds this bike is made to achieve.

The V20c headtube is now tapered with wider bearings to accommodate the new fork, and the geometry just slightly tweaked from its V20 predecessor for even smoother handling.

The main connection of the rear lower stays at the hydroformed tube now weld into a CNC machined yoke. The result is an increased torsional stiffness - an important thing on the twisty downhills especially for heavier riders - and has cleaned up the welds at that joint significantly while also being lighter.

The rear dropouts have been completely redesigned to accommodate a 12mm through axle which threads into a replaceable lightweight cap and accommodates standard flat mount disc brakes. They are CNC machined specifically to create the perfect blend of light weight, stiffness, and precision.

      Seat-to-Frame-to-Drive Connection

The V20c's carbon fiber seat fits the curve of the frame so that no watt is wasted. As you press your back into the frame, you engage your whole body through the handlebar and cranks. Energy surges through the drive system and powers the bike forward, leaping up hills or accelerating into a sprint.

        V20c Complete Components

We are still in the midst of severe shortages and backlogs for bicycle components. This has impacted every aspect of the industry. Most of the gear we have used in the past has simply not been available to us and until that returns to normal we work very hard to equip our bikes with the best quality we can access.

With that said, we believe that the Vendetta V20c Complete component package we have sourced will allow you to get started smashing those PRs, CRs and maybe even WRs - as fast as possible.

        Fast, Fun, Feels Good

I have been a cruzbike vendetta rider for more than a decade. It is fast, fun, and it feels good. It is the most anatomically-correct self-powered bicycle on the market. Although it requires a leap of faith and trust, Cruzbike support is second to none. Enjoy fun, speed, good looks and good health!

        This is a wonderful bike!

I can’t say enough about this bike. The best thing about the V20 is that it unquestionably feels like a high-performance bike. In important ways, it’s an upgrade over the several other very nice bikes now hanging on the wall in my garage. I simply don’t have pain or numbness. I bought only the frame with the kit for the adjustable carbon seat and headrest, and my local bike shop had no problem doing the buildout I wanted. I have hydraulic brakes, Zipp wheels, nice groupset, etc., just like a performance bike. It is an absolute blast to ride, though there is a learning curve, initially a steep one, but if you’re a performance junkie by nature, you’ll get through that easily and quickly enough. One concern I had was the angle of my neck given how far back the seat reclines. However, I have not experienced any problems at all on long rides, and I can see perfectly fine. Simply put, this bike is a blast and wants to be ridden hard.

        Headwind Slicer

We get very windy days 23-30 mph by the Chicago lakefront. Love the v20c vendetta Cruzbike!! 650 miles on it since August, the bike slices through headwinds like a hot knife through butter! I was hitting 18-19 mph heading directly into headwinds. Amazing!

        Loving it!

I went from a road bike with aerobar clipons straight to a 2018 V20 and while it took a total of about 2 weeks before all the balance issues were completely gone for me, almost immediately I began annihilating my road bike records on Strava not only in faster speeds but also in distance. The best thing though, is that all my neck, back, and wrist issues associated with the amount of time spent on my road bike started disappearing. 2-3 hours was all I could muster on my road bike. My legs still had more in them but my neck was killing me and my back and butt weren't enjoying it either. On my V20 I have easily quadrupled my time in the saddle because even with just the stock seat which spreads your weight out over a much larger surface than a road bike's, the V20 is just so comfortable. A strategically placed adhesive-backed thin foam pad for customizable lumbar support enhances the already excellent fit without the need for cycling shorts. I sometimes feel guilty for feeling like I am sitting on a Lazy Boy while going that fast and being that efficient. I thought my $8000 titanium road bike was going to be my "forever" bike but that bike now sits covered in my room, waiting to be ridden. The only action it ever sees is when a friend comes to town and rides it or my V20 is down and waiting for a part. Two and a half years on my V20 so far and since I am still only interested in speed and comfort, I would rather ride it than any brand new triathlon, TT or road bike. Why? Because all of those bikes keep you in essentially the same uncomfortable position. They are lovely bikes but not only would I be slower on any of those, I would be much less comfortable. Check out Cruzbike's fastest bike policy for the V20 and the return policy, and see if you'll get something similar anywhere else. That is the sign of a company which has full faith in their products.

This is my 4th Cruzbike. Two V20's, one is a dedicated trainer never leaving my Wahoo Kickr & the other my outdoor rider. Bob Pankratz turned me onto Cruzbike as we both experienced similar cervical spine issues requiring the neck support to continue cycling. I enjoy training and riding.

If you haven't jumped on your own Cruzbike yet, we hope Greg's experience will encourage you:

"I am a S40 owner for over five years. I have now put over 18,000 miles on my S40 and ride it all the time! I love it! One of the reasons I asked about replacing my 2019 S40 is that my mechanic said that 18,000 on one bike is a lot of miles. But, he also said my S40 is in great condition for that many miles.

It may sound crazy, but I enjoy the attention I get on my S40. I hear things like "Cool Bike," "Wow, that looks comfortable," or "Is it hard to ride?" I love telling people about it and how much I enjoy riding it! My brother now owns an S40 and Q45." - Greg L., Idaho
